As the national tour of Flashdance readies to make its official opening in Pittsburgh on January 3, is bringing you a sneak peak at the show. In this Hot Shot, heroin Alex Owens (played by Emily Padgett) performs the famous chair dance move that's now an iconic image from the original 1983 film. There’s even a bonus shot below of Padgett being romanced by Matthew Hydzik who plays Nick Hurley, Alex’s supportive boyfriend. Flashdance tells the story of a working-class girl from Pittsburgh who, by day works at a steel mill, where she catches the eye of her boss. By night however she works as a “flashdancer” at a local bar, longing to become a student at the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy. The musical features hits from the film’s Grammy-winning soundtrack, including “Flashdance—What a Feeling,” “Maniac,” “Gloria” and 10 original songs. Get your tickets to see Flashdance today!
